United Way of West Central MN (UWWCM) is a nonprofit human service agency that works with local businesses, agencies, schools, individuals and government entities to help improve lives. It is focused on Education and Health. Making sure that our children come to school prepared to succeed, supporting them through high school, and helping people of all ages gain job skills. Also promoting quality health as it keeps children on track in school, adults productive at work, and older adults and those living with disibilities living independently.
UWWCM funds agencies, brings community leaders to the table to discuss issues, and supports UWWCM initiatives (Gift N Kind-basic household needs, Growmobile-mobile preschool education, Imagination Library, and Volunteer Center).

Making a difference in Minnesota:
Helping our children succeed benefits everyone in our region. The Willmar Early Child hood cabinet has identified over 150 kids in just Willmar schools that had not had a preschool experience this past fall.
The UWWCM Growmobile goes directly into day cares during the school year, provides a lesson and leaves curriculum for the day care provider to continue the learning experience. 123 children got a preschool experience last school year. During the summer the Growmobile visits 9 low-income sites to reach out to children. Last summer we averaged 187 children impacted by the Growmobile daily with a summer education experience.
